A husband is believed to have murdered his wife after she posted a message on Facebook saying she was leaving him - and then took his own life. Mother-of-two Tracey Grinhaff was found dead in an outbuilding in the back garden of the home she shared with husband Gary, in Wombwell near Barnsley on Friday. But two weeks earlier she wrote on her Facebook profile that she was “currently splitting” from her electrical engineer husband. She added: "Been married for 16 years but together for 26!!!! God that makes me sound old."
Neighbours say Gary had found out Tracey had been having an affair but that has not been confirmed. South Yorkshire Police said the 42-year-old died after sustaining a head injury while the body of her husband was found shortly after at a nearby local beauty spot. A post mortem carried out on the body of the 41-year-old indicated he had died from "self-inflicted injuries," believed to be to the head and face. Tributes have been paid to the mother of two A force spokesperson said: "We are satisfied that we are not looking for anyone else involved with this incident." After the bodies were discovered a man, believed to be a neighbour, was arrested on suspicion of murder but was later released without charge. Neighbours initially described the couple, who are believed to have two daughters, Chloe, aged 13, and Neve, three, as the "perfect little family." Scroll down for more... Tracey's body was found in the back garden of their semi detached But one man who lives close to the couple's semi-detached house, said he believed that Tracey had been having an affair, which her husband had found out about. He said: "It's that classic age old problem where there's been a love triangle and people are saying that Gary found out about it. "They were a lovely family, we didn't live in each other's pockets but they were always so friendly. Another neighbour, who wished to remain unnamed, said: "I have been told the children knocked on a neighbour's door with a note in their hands. "The note said something bad had happened to their mum and dad, and the police were called. "Everyone in the street is in a state of shock.
