Loan man Nardiello returns to QPR Barnsley have decided to send on-loan striker Daniel Nardiello back to QPR. Nardiello, who joined QPR in the summer of 2007 after turning down an improved offer to stay at Oakwell, scored just once in 13 games on his return. Barnsley have also listed five players, Istvan Ferenczi, Sam Togwell, Paul Reid, Andy Johnson and Kim Christensen. "Paul, Andy and Kim haven't featured this term, " boss Simon Davey told the club's website. "It's better for all concerned if they move on and play." |

Barnsley's 2008-2009 pre-season will have a familiar look about it as three teams who the Reds faced in summer 2007 are set to face them again.
Wigan, Rotherham and Buxton are likely to be joined by York and Glossop as Barnsley prepare for a third successive season in the Championship.
The Wigan match, set for Oakwell, is pencilled in for Tuesday 29th July, probably with a 7:45pm kick-off. The other friendlies are all likely to be away from home and dates for them have yet to be set.
According to today's Barnsley Chronicle, The Reds face a real fight to hang on to skipper Brian Howard, who has a year left on his contract. |

SWANSEA-born Simon Davey was given a big welcome back to South Wales at Ninian Park yesterday. Barnsley's manager was the target for verbal abuse purely because he is from a rival city - and played for Swansea City.
He also saw his team dismantled 3-0 by FA Cup finalists Cardiff City. But Davey had a kind word for Cardiff, saying: "The achievement of Dave Jones and his team in reached the FA Cup final is outstanding.
"It's great for the Championship and it's great for Wales. I wish them well."
This was by no means a disaster for Barnsley, after all, they were already safe from relegation, but it was simply Cardiff City's day in their last match before the FA Cup final. |
