Barnsley FC Drop Season Ticket Prices
Sunday, 04 May 2008 16:50

Oakwell have announced that prices for season tickets in the 08/09 season will be reduced.

Next years price will drop around £10 on this year prices. Barnsley FC is one of the few clubs in the 4 professional divisions that are doing this. It shows how well Barnsley FC is now being run when they are able offer a gesture back to the fans who have supported them through the highs and lows of this season.

In addition, children under the age of 11 will be given free admission with every paying adult. This is fantastic news and will allow the next generation of fans to attend football from a young age.

The decision has been made in an attempt to raise the crowds at Oakwell. Big crowds and heavy support at Oakwell this season have been a factor in the side's home form which has no doubt kept them in The Championship.

Barnsley Owner Patrick Cryne said "The Clubs march to Wembley in this seasons FA Cup showed that the whole of Barnsley is proud of the club and want to be a part of it, taking over 30,000 fans to London proved that".

Supporters Trust Chairman Alan Boore said "Barnsley FC have shown a great commitment to the local community in this era of rising ticket prices"

Season ticket prices will be priced at £290 in the Pontefract Road End, £360 in the East Stand and West Stand Upper Tiers. Pensioners can get their tickets for around £170 - £200. Tickets for under 18's will be charged at £120 or £100 in the family area.

Tickets bought on match days will remain between £20 and £22 for adults and £6 - £13 for concessions.
