Delay in roadworks on Burton Road

  •

The recent plunge in temperatures and subsequent weather ground frost has delayed proposed roadworks to Burton Road in Barnsley, which were scheduled to begin this week

It is anticipated that these will now begin from Monday, February 27 and will last approximately eight weeks.

The temporary closure, from the junction with Wakefield Road to opposite house number 52 Burton Road, will allow engineers from Barnsley Council to carry out carriageway and footway resurfacing, the provision of parking bays, together with improvements to drainage and street lighting.

During the closure an alternative route will be signed off Burton Road, Wakefield Road and Old Mill Lane via the newly constructed road.
