Dugout's good friend Simon Rose was the happier chap at a bitterly cold Vicarage Road on Saturday.
For the second season in a row he saw John Eustace come up trumps for his team – and left Barnsley beaten.
Simon had once again sponsored the game, and had invited Dugout into the executive box for the afternoon, where food and refreshment were in ample supply. So at least there was some solace to an otherwise disappointing afternoon for those who had ventured down from South Yorkshire!
Simon even roped Dugout into being on a pre-match photo with a couple of the Hornets squad.
And Simon made sure that his 'Barnsley mate' looked more than a little dwarfish stood next to a Watford giant!
Good tunes, or stone-deaf DJs....?
It appears that Barnsley supporters still cannot make their mind up about the pre-match music at Oakwell.
Some like the new style that has been introduced this season, with music by The Stone Roses often intermingled with commentary clips from those nice chaps at Barnsley Player.
But other fans are less positive.
One contacted Dugout and said: "Has anyone drawn to your attention the anti-social torture of the full volume 'music' blaring out from the East Stand (Upper Tier) speakers before the match and at half-time?
"In addition who decided to play raucous music, again on full volume, right up to the precise moment the referee blows his whistle to start the game and again restart it at half-time?
"Is it a new, modern style of thing imported to enhance enjoyment by the fans as well as the employment prospects of stone deaf disc jockeys?
"I can tell it's here to stay, as on one or two occasions play has started and the raucous music has continued for a second or two. Does it now happen at all grounds?"
Opinions eh? What's yours?
