South Yorkshire Police have begun a murder investigation into the death of a 36-year-old man.

The man was found seriously injured in Church Street, Thurnscoe around 4.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital where he later died of his injuries. The forensic post mortem will take place today.

Several man have been arrested.

Police are conducting extensive enquiries in Thurnscoe to try and establish the facts of the case.
