The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company is holding open auditions on Sunday for 'Hello Dolly!'.

The auditions will start at 1pm at Trinity Church Hall, Crookes Street, Barnsley.

The show will be performed at the Lamproom from May 8-12.

Meanwhile, LYTES are holding auditions (1pm) on Sunday, February 5 at the Polish Social Centre, Summer Lane, Barnsley for 'The Wizard Of Oz'.

That show will be performed at The Lamproom in June.

You must be aged between 11-21 to join LYTE and audition.

The Friends of the Lamproom Theatre have launched a Friends Cookbook of 'Tried and Tested' recipes, to raise funds for the theatre. It is priced £4.

'Toby Foster and Friends' (showing at the Lamproom tomorrow –27th – and Saturday) have sold out, but the 'Last Laugh' returns in March.

Also sold out is 'An Evening with Neil Redfearn' and the last performance of 'Dirty Dusting' on Saturday, March 3.

Following a successful grant application to Coalfields Regeneration Trust, work will commence in April on a refurbishement project to the outside of the Grade II listed Lamproom building.

New windows, new fencing, an illuminated sign looking out over Shambles Street, and other work is in the pipeline.
